Ro: Hey guys, it’s Ro! Welcome to another
Nerdy Nummies! Ro: Today I have a very special guest, Austin! Austin: What up guys! Ro: OK, Austin, I’m so excited, what’s
going on with you? What’s new? Austin: Well I have a new single out, it’s
called Dirty Work, Ro: Mmmhmm. Austin: And you should go check it out because
it’s a lot of fun! Ro: I loved it! Austin: And you should download it. Ro: I did download it! Austin: Did you? Ro:
Yeah! Austin: OK, alright! Ro: I loved it, I’ll put links down below
so you can go check it out. Ro: And I’ll be putting all of Austin’s
links on social media. Austin: Yes! Ro: So go say hi to him. Austin: Go follow
me! Ro: So, do you bake a lot. Austin: No I do
not. Ro: I will teach you, don’t you worry. Ro: And, do you watch any My Little Ponies?
Austin: No, no I do not. Ro: Don’t worry, I’ll help you! Austin: OK, thank you so much! Ro: I’ll teach you the ways of MLP. I got
so many requests from you guys to Ro: make something My Little Ponies related.
Austin: Awesome. Ro: So that is what we’re gonna be doing
today! We are gonna be making Ro: Mrs. Cake Cutie Mark Cupcakes! Both: Let’s get started! Ro: The things you will need, will be: A white
cake recipe, I’m Ro: using the official Nerdy Nummies recipe,
but we are gonna tweak it a little bit Ro: because we’re gonna be using a little
bit of fresh cherry juice. Ro: So, you will need: 2 cups flour, 1-1/2
cups sugar, Maraschino Cherries, Ro: 5 egg whites, 1 sh-tick of butter, 1/2
a cup of milk, 1/4 cup of vegetable Ro: shortening, 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract,
2 teaspoons of baking powder, Ro: a pinch of salt, and 2 teaspoons of vanilla
extract. Austin: You will also need, 2 mixing bowls,
1 mixer, some cupcake trays Austin: and some liners. Ro: That’s right!
Austin: Preferably gold! Ro: Yeah! Ro: Now let’s. Both: Put it all together! Ro: The first thing that we’re gonna do
is whisk together some of our dry ingredients. Ro: So Austin, you’re gonna add the flour
in the bowl. Austin: Ok, here we go. Austin: Flour’s in the bowl. Ro: Boom! Austin:
Boom! Ro: And, a little bit on the finger, just
for a little good luck. Austin: Boom! Ro: And, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
Will you give me a pinch? Austin: Little pinch. Ro: There you go! Austin: OK. Ro: Are you ready? Austin: OK.
Ro: I’m gonna have you whisk, and then Ro: I’m just gonna whisk and nay-nay over
here! Austin: Mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm! Ro: Mmm! Mmmm-mmm-mmm! Ro: Now that we’ve got that together we’re
gonna cream our butter and shortening. Ro: So I’m gonna do this, because this is,
this is the dirty work! Ro: Ah! Austin: Ah! Ro: Ah-ah-ah! Austin:
OK, I get you. Ro: This is the dirty work here because this
butter is at room temperature, Ro: so it’s really soft. So your hands are
gonna get messy, that’s OK. Ro: We’re gonna scoop in our shortening.
Austin: Scoop that in there! Ro: Yeah! Alright, now Austin go in there
and just mix it up! Ro: Now you’re gonna slowly add in the sugar. Ro: So this is a two handed job. Austin: Yeah
it is. Ro: So you’re gonna pour Ro: while you’re mixing. Austin: While I’m
mixing? Ro: Yeah. Austin: Wow. Ro: And I’ll sit here and supervise! Austin:
That’s pretty intense! Ro: You got it, you got it! You’re coordinated,
I know you can do it! Ro: Yep! Ro: What? A pro over here! Ro: Now Austin is gonna add the extracts,
just pour ‘em both in there, Ro: vanilla and almond. Austin: I’m gonna
fuze them at the same time. Ro: Ahhhhh! Austin: Fuze! Ro: Bellisimo! Austin: Boom! Ro: Now we are
gonna add our eggs, we’re gonna add Ro: them one at a time, so I’m gonna have
you on mixer. Austin: Got it! Ro: And then I’m gonna add the egg, and
then you’re gonna mix. Ro: Here we go… Oh, oh my! Oh! Austin: Oh,
oh! Ro: OK go! Austin: Don’t mess up this time! Ro: OK,
ready? Ro: I got it, I got it, I got it! Austin: That was probably your best one yet!
Ro: Thank you. Austin: Yeah. Ro: Over here we’ve got our batter all mixed
up and here is half a cup of Ro: 2% milk, and we are going to add just
the juice from the cherries, Ro: until it reaches one cup. Ro: Try not to get the cherries in there,
there you go. Austin: Oh! We’re in the kitchen! It’s
OK, we’re in the kitchen! Ro: It’s OK! Messes are delicious. Mistakes
are yummy! It’s OK! Austin: You tell me when because I can’t
see where the cup is. Ro: OK ready, set…. Now! Ro: Boom! Ro: We just did some Dirty Work, cleaned up
those cherries, and now, we’re gonna mix Ro: everything together. So what we’re gonna
do here is we’re gonna alternate. Ro: We’re gonna add a little bit of the
dry and the wet, to our butter mixture. Ro: So we’re gonna start with a little dry,
ready? And then a little bit of wet. Ro: Alright mix it up. Oh! Oh! Oh! Ro: We have food all over us! Austin: We’re
just a mess in the kitchen! Ro: Boom! Austin: Are we licking this thing?
Ro: Huh! Ro: Yeah do you want to taste it? Ro: Wait, I thought you were gonna… Ro: It’s too sweet before it bakes. Austin:
No. Ro: Is it OK? Austin: Mmmhmmm. Ro: OK. Ro: We just finished making the batter and
we put it in these plastic bags, Ro: and Austin’s got some scissors so we’re
gonna just snip tip. Ro: We put them in here for a little bit more
control. Ro: When you’re making mini cupcakes, it’s
a little bit harder to scoop Ro: in your batter, so using a plastic baggie
is just an easy trick. Ro: And then you’re gonna fill them about
half way to two thirds full. Ro: Austin’s doing really good, and you
can make as many of these as you’d like. Austin: You’re real slow over there. Ro:
I know! Oh my gosh! Ro: Once you’ve filled your cupcake trays,
you’re gonna throw these in the oven Ro: at 350 degrees and bake for about 11 minutes.
They’re a lot smaller so just Ro: keep your eye on them. Ro: Because they bake a lot faster than regular
cupcakes. Austin: Mmmhmm. Ro: We just took the cupcakes out of the oven,
and they have had plenty of Ro: time to cool, and now it is my favorite
time, time to decorate! Ro: This is the fun part! So we’ve got a
little frosting in these bags with a Ro: number ten tip, and are you ready? Austin:
Let’s do it! Ro: I’m gonna show you how to frost a cupcake.
Austin: Alright, let me see. Ro: Start in the middle. Austin: Oh start
in the middle? Alright. Ro: Put a little pressure, and then you
go to the outside, and go all the way Ro: around, make a circle all the way around,
and then work your way in! Boop! Ro: Nice. Austin: Boop! Ro: Now the next part is we’re gonna add
some little pink sprinkles on top. Ro: This is just the little confetti, we’ve
separated them so that we’re just Ro: using the pink sprinkles, and just sprinkle
them all over. Ro: I call this the make it rain. Austin:
The make it rain? Ro: Yeah, are you ready? I make it rain, I
make it rain! Austin: Dirty Work! Daw-daw-daw, da-dee-dee-dee!
Daw-daw-daw, bop! Austin: And for the last step we’re gonna
put a cherry on top. Ro: Mmmhmm! Austin: So should we put a cherry on top?
Ro: Yeah. Austin: Let’s do it! Ro: Little candy cherry, and just boop! Right
on top. Austin: Boop! Austin: We’re putting cherries on top, yeah!
Ro: Boop! Austin: Cupcakes, cherries on top, yeah! Austin: We got pink icing. Ro: Boop-boop!
Austin: Pink sprinkles, pink icing, Austin: pink sprinkles, putting the cherries
on top! Ro: Boop-be-doop-be-doop-be-doop! Austin: Cherries on top, yeah! Ro: Boop-boop-be-doop!
Boop! Both: Ta-da! Ro: Here are our Mrs. Cake Cutie Mark Cupcakes
