Braided rolls (decorative grab and go pastry)

I’m making cute little braided rolls, perfect for guests or little children’s hands. Hi. I’m Valentina. If you like braided rolls, you will definitely love these ones too. They are easy to make and they disappear quickly. We all like these braided rolls while they’re still warm, although we never gave them a chance to sit overnight. Leave me comments and let me know. 🙂 For this recipe we will need: 500 gr of all purpose flour, 120 ml of lukewarm water that is just a little bit more than one deciliter. 40 gr of fresh yeast, 40 gr of room temperature butter, 1 tsp of sugar, 3/4 tsp of salt, and 120 ml of lukewarm milk (little bit more than 1dl). Add the sugar to the milk and disolve the yeast. Let it sit for a while until it starts working. For the brushing we’ll need one egg and one tablespoon of sesame seeds. Beet the egg and set it all aside. Add the salt to the flour and the butter. Combine well the butter with the flour. Once the yeast is prepared add it to the dry mixture. Slowly work in the water too. That way it is easier to determin how much water will pick up the dough. Kneed it well. It should reach the consistency of a firmer playdough, so we can work with it easily. Let the dough sit for 30 minutes. It should double in size. Once the dough is risen, transfer it to your workspace and divide it in half. Each half we will divide in additional 16 parts. That we`ll do by first dividing it in 8 parts. It is easily done by cutting the dough in half, then each half cutting once more in half and finaly each qarter of dough cutting in half once more. Now we have 8 parts. Each of these 8 parts cut in half again, this will make 16 pieces of dough. Take two pieces and roll them out in long rolls. Glue them at one end end braid them. Glue them at ends again and now you got a cute braided roll. Continue the same with the rest of the dough. Transfer the braided rolls on parchment paper brush them with egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on each. Bake them until golden, for 10-15min at 175C (347 F). Our rolls are baked and serverd.
