ANGEL FOOD CUPCAKES!

(lighthearted music) – Hey friends, thank you
so much for tuning in to Cook with April on Tasty Tuesday with our taste tester, Justin. – Hey. – Today we are going to make
angel food cake cupcakes. They are so moist. You can even have it with
just as is like as a cake, but I chose to make it cupcake form and then on top of that we’re having this delicious, creamy,
chocolate frosting. It’s so good, you guys, like
I could just eat the frosting, but then that’s not a good idea. But stay tuned and enjoy. So let’s go ahead and get started with the angel food cake recipe. So you’ll need about 10 or so egg whites in room temperature, cake flour, granulated white sugar, vanilla extract, cream
of tartar, and salt. So you’re gonna sift
together sugar and flour and sift that maybe
about two or three times and then in a larger
bowl place the egg whites as well as the cream of tartar and you can also add the
vanilla extract or even later on and mix on a high. You want to mix it on high because you really want
it to create stiff peaks, which just means that it’s kind of like a whipping cream consistency. And then after it’s a little thicker, you’re ready to add the
granulated white sugar a little bit at a time and then after that you are
ready to add the flour mixture. I like to just gradually
fold the flour mixture in. Then you are ready to place
it into any cupcake liners and if you want angel food cake you can put it in a cake pan instead and bake at 350 degrees
for about 28 minutes. And now for the frosting
you’ll need powdered sugar, cocoa powder, evaporated milk, vanilla extract, and of course softened butter. You’re gonna sift the powdered sugar and the cocoa powder together, then gradually add it
to the softened butter. Then you’re ready to
add the evaporated milk. Now you’re ready to
add the vanilla extract and continue mixing until it’s
a nice creamy consistency. Alright you guys, this
is the angel food cake. Look how soft it turned out. Oh my gosh, I want some more. This was amazing. And this frosting, you
guys, absolutely delicious. So you can have it like that right on top of the
angel food cake cupcakes or you can even add strawberries, which is really tasty as well. So we have our taste tester and you know what, I ate one already, but it’s one of those things
where I just want more. – Oh man. – It gets messy though, the frosting part. – That’s the whole point though. – Yes. – I just know I’m gonna get
it on my nose or something. Oh my god. That is the most moist
angel food I ever had. – It is, it’s so fluffy. Oh my gosh, shout out to Taste of Home because I found this recipe. I was on Pinterest and it
was pinned like 40,000 times. I was like let me try this. So this is Taste of Home’s
recipe so shout out to them ’cause this is theirs. – You guys know like
sometimes when you’ll get angel food cake at the grocery store and it’s like really dry, this is the exact opposite of that. It is so unbelievably moist and I got to admit I’m not a huge fan of frosting in general. This chocolate frosting is amazing. – It is bomb. – It is so good, so the combo
with the angel food cake and then I like your little
garnish with strawberry on top. Excellent, honey. – Oh my gosh, it’s so
moist, chocolate frosting. It’s like gonna be my go-to
chocolate frosting now ’cause I’ve been trying a bunch, you know. – This is pretty close to
that cream cheese frosting that you make. – Mmm. – It’s good, it’s really good. – That’s a big deal, you guys, ’cause Justin’s all about
that cream cheese frosting. Sorry if I have something in my teeth. You guys, try this one, try this. And then the frosting, the cream, not cream cheese, why am I saying, the chocolate frosting was on the back of the Ghiradelli cocoa powder container. I was like okay let me try that. Really good, you guys,
so I highly recommend it. I’ll put like the ingredient
list in the info box as always and also check out my other
Cooking with April videos and I gotta go ’cause I gotta finish this. We love you friends and
subscribe if you enjoyed. Bye. (lighthearted music)
