Yom Kippur Question Reflection
Many rituals help us to mark the Jewish Day of Judgement. People wear white, refrain from wearing leather shoes and spend the day fasting. It can be a personal day of reckoning as well as a communal day of reflection, for all of the prayers that are said are chanted in plural.  On Yom Kippur we read the Book of Jonah.

Resources: people
1) Each person should think of a question they might ponder if they were in the belly of a whale for three days as Jonah was.
2) Each person should state their question and those around them should refrain from offering advice but instead ask a question that might help the person to consider their problem in a helpful way. Eg. 'why do you think that is important?' or 'what would you do if...'

Resources: newspaper headlines
1) Flick through newspaper archives on the internet from the past 12 months in sport, arts, international and national news, choosing 20 headlines
2) put the headlines in the middle of a circle of people and ask each to choose one that was particularly meaningful or reminds them of something.
3) take turns sharing responses
