Purim Puppets

One of the customs of Purim is to read Megillat Esther, the story of Esther. It is important to read it because we often learn things about the Purim story that are different from the text.

As we read, it can be fun to illustrate what is happening with finger puppets. We can stop at intervals and ask the characters questions such as 'what are your options?' and 'how are you feeling?'

Resources: finger puppets; sticky tape/stapler, rubber band

Purim Mishloach Manot twist

The three key customs on Purim are giving Mishloach Manot (food parcels), Matanot Le Evyonim (gifts to the poor) and dressing up/getting drunk. Mishloach Manot should contain three items requiringn different blessings so this could include something from a tree, the ground, bread, non-bread, grapes.

MISHLOACH MANOT
You can make and grow your own mishloach manot contents by growing fruit, herbs or vegetables, and following this hamentaschen recipe:

PURIM COCKTAILS (each has three items requiring different blessings)
